There’s nothing quite like a toasted s’more. The meeting of chocolate, marshmallow, and graham cracker produces a gooey, rich, and delicious treat. They’re also a staple of summer. Being outside, perhaps camping, gathered around a fire almost demands them.
Sometimes, though, the heat of summer makes standing around a fire less desirable. Maybe it’s that you’re sweaty enough already. Maybe it’s that you don’t have the desire to smell like a campfire. Maybe you don’t have occasion to build a fire, but you still want the s’more.
While you can get creative with the microwave or even your stovetop, there is another way. The Toasted S’More Cocktail provides the flavors of the s’more with much less effort. All you need is a few ingredients and a glass and you’re good to go.
The Toasted S’more:
1 oz. vanilla vodka
1 oz. chocolate liqueur (I used Mozart Dark Chocolate, but I’m sure any will suffice)
1 smoked ice cube
Heavy cream or half & half
Add the booze and the ice cube to a glass and stir to melt the ice and release some of the smoke. Top with the cream or half & half and stir again. Drink. Enjoy.
Also, if you really want to step things up and bring in the full flavor profile, you can rim your glass with crushed graham crackers prior to making the drink. I did not do this, but if you try it, let us know what you think in the comments.
While you may not find yourself emulating a campfire iteration of the Dude and making the Toasted S’more your go-to drink, it’s a delicious, decadent, and sippable dessert. Try it, you won’t regret it.
